Nothing more than a trip to the ER. Duh! This time it would be for Bullfrog. Why? Because Bullfrog is the only one who has ever actually sent us to the ER.
Two days ago Bullfrog and Peanut were having one of their "let's battle it out" days. They decided they needed to beat on one another and about half way through the day I was done putting them in time out, kissing boo boos and other sorts of punishments and figured there was no real way I was going to resolve the issue anyway. Couldn't take them outside to burn energy off since it was raining, and I had worked the night prior so I was half awake anyway. Well the fighting finally ended after Bullfrogs's last cry session and run to mommy with the comment "She hit my nose." I, again, told him he would be fine, there was no blood and I didn't want to hear it. So he simply asked for a kiss and told me he would just play with his toys on his bed. Fine. Sure enough, that was the end of the fight. *should have been a red flag*
Bring on Wednesday. Bullfrog has been having his asthma flare up the past few days because it is April. lol Nothing big and bad about that. Nothing new. My problems start in March, his in April. I was cleaning his nose several times throughout the day and NO COMMENTS from him. In the afternoon he simply said, when you clean my nose it doesn't hurt but when Peanut does it hurts. *this was sort of a red flag* I addressed the issue of Peanut not being the mom and letting me clean his nose. Of course LATER I found out she was attempting to remove what she had shoved in there. Perfect.
So, Wednesday night, Bullfrog woke up coughing and crying so I gave him a breathing treatment and noticed afterwards his nose was yucky again. I went to clean it out and thought to myself, well boogers aren't white. So I tilted his head back and moved his nose around and he just looked at me as if I was crazy. I realized then there was something small and white in his nose. With it being so close to the front and space around it, I went to get the tweezers. However, within a few seconds of trying to pull it out he complained it hurt. I decided, nope, we have paid professionals, we will take him to them. I had no idea really what was in his nose, let alone how deep it might be or worse. So off to the ER we went. He went through it like a champ. His only complaint of the night was the Dr. had a really bright light around his head and he kept shining it in Bullfrog's eyes. The EMT and Nurse were super impressed, while I was so not surprised in the least. The EMT gave Bullfrog 3 stickers, while I was just calming down from the fact that they took us into the trauma bay. It took a whole 30 seconds tops to get the small toy out of his nose. So, what was it you may ask? It was the salt lick from one of Peanut's new horse toys. Something I THOUGHT I had gotten all the small toys out of. The small barrettes were already up and I thought I had gotten everything else. He wouldn't even tell me the real story. The nurse and I were chit chatting and I told her I hadn't the foggiest idea what it was because I didn't get to get a good look at it and Bullfrog simply said "it's horsey food." That was when I knew EXACTLY what it was. *sigh* Peanut stayed home and slept through the whole thing, only to find out about it this morning when I went to clip off the hospital band from JJ's wrist. She has been saying she is sorry all day. It does explain why she was SOOOO nice to him yesterday though.
