Happy Christmas Eve

I hope this finds all well and good. We have been prepping at the hotel for this day and it still gets slammed because of sickness. That thing seems to be spoiling a lot of things lately; people canceling plans due to family in the hospital, people coming to work ill because they can't afford not to work, etc.

Today we were expecting about 75 check-ins but we had additions and subtractions to that number. I got off work at 2:30pm and that left 3 1/2 hours of check-in time. I felt like I was on speed go until about 1:30pm when everything stopped, and I mean stopped. It went from crazy crazy to absolutely nothing to do because we spent a 1/2 hour catching everything up. We had enough people to keep water carts going, cats checked, daycamp running, playtimes done, etc. We just suddenly ran out of things for people to do when people took a lull in calling us and checking in. The bright spot of today was when Kim came in to say Merry Christmas and bring in homemade cookies. YUM! The next bright spot of the day was when I was getting ready to leave, Papa Johns made a delivery and we found out that one of our favorite customers ordered 3 large pizzas just for us to say Merry Christmas.

I work tomorrow but we get to wear regular clothing. I am starting to regret saying I will work 8 hours because I am so exhausted after today and now we have events that will run into the night. We have dinner with the family, cookies to bake, and stockings to fill. Then in the AM (all before 9:30am) we have to get the kids to open their stockings. We were going to do a few presents in the AM but it looks like we will be waiting until almost 7pm to open them. Then I have to go to bed because I have to be at work at 6am on Friday. *breather* I can't wait until Saturday when I get to take a day off and go see my family in Manhattan.
