Well, I haven't really updated the blog since the day before Christmas so this will be part one of my Christmas update. The other half will be after January 10th when we have the second half of our Christmas.
I worked 8 hours on Christmas so we woke the kids at 8am and did stockings and presents. The kids cleaned their room while I went to work so Bullfrog could ride his new big wheel in the house. We had snow, ice and tornado warnings all going on Friday night to Saturday morning. Jeremy worked and I slept preparing to drive to Manhattan. The trip down wasn't so bad; poured until Topeka where it turned to ice. Then it was clear. The trip back, not so great. But the trip in Manhattan first.
We got to Manhattan around 10am and got presents out of the way. Then we did stockings before the Baxter gang showed up. Peanut got new boots, a new kid computer, a game, gift card to Wal-Mart, a new dress, and a new magazine (Highlights). Bullfrog got new boots, a new kid computer, a game, gift card to Wal-Mart, cowboy vest, and a new magazine (High Five). I got a membership to Union Station, a hooded 4-H sweatshirt (YAY!), a Hobby Lobby gift card, bath fizzes, and a gift card to JC Penney's to split with Jer. Jer got 3 KSU shirts, Final Destination Trilogy, a computer game, Vintage Stock gift card (which he got Final Fantasy for his PSP), and 2 really nice dress shirts. Santa always brings great gifts and mine were all stitchy related so I am psyched.
The Baxter gang showed up right before the food was all ready so it was perfect timing. Tiffany came with her husband Eric, Adam came with his girlfriend Jennifer and a friend named Mike, and then there was Aunt Merry. We had 2 large tables full of people and if you haven't read my sister's blog about my cousin's hair, well ya should. They have mohawks spiked to at least 5-6". Peanut refers to them as the Spiky Guys. Even with me trying to remind them not to make a big deal out of it. Oh well.
It began to snow later in the evening and that is when we decided to head back. We still had a 3 hour trip as the road conditions were horrendous. I drove the whole way getting more familiar with driving on bad roads and feel a little more comfortable.
