Been a crazy week!

Sorry for the lack of updates but after this one, I am sure you will understand!

Friday - May 22: I was off work because we had the Buzz Under the Stars I to go to. We listened to Annberlin, Taking Back Sunday, Alkaline Trio, The Used and Offspring. The concert lasted until 11:45pm, getting us home around 12:30pm.

Saturday - May 23: Jer left for work before I got up, and then I left before he got home. I worked from 10:30am to 9:15pm. We had about 90 dogs and 10 cats. It was a very busy, non-stop day. I spent pretty much all day in daycamp.

Sunday - May 24: I reported to work at 7am, again before the kids or Jer got up. I again spent pretty much all day in daycamp. By 4:45pm, I was done. I was supposed to get off at 4pm but was going to stay until 5pm to assist but was sick of things that happened over the weekend and missed my family. I got home and broke down.

Monday - May 25: I had the day off because it was my anniversary. We celebrated 7 years of marriage. We basically took the ability to veg to the max. The only outing we did was to go to Chili's for a family meal and then went to HyVee for our weekly shopping trip.

Tuesday through Thursday - May 26-28: I started back at work at 1pm. I knew that my work week this week would be basically getting everything at the hotel back to the way it was BEFORE the onslaught of dogs. I worked just under 24 hours playing with the dogs and then cleaning the facility. I spent a great deal of time on Thursday getting rooms back tot he way they were and starting the reorganization process of the files. They are to be alphabetized and all boxes marked, etc. but when we are bombarded with check-ins and check-outs you don't really care as long as they are in the correct drawer. I have gotten through several off the letters and left a note showing what hasn't been done.

Friday - May 29: I was back in grooming today. I have been told though that it was just for the day and not a set thing. The phone never stopped ringing, the groomer was booked and had several dogs that were a matted mess. I had several dogs but wasn't completely booked ... HOWEVER, I had a ton of people walk in and want nail trims. It was a great teaching day though. That is always rewarding. I got off a half hour after I was supposed to.

Saturday - May 30: YAY! The day had FINALLY come. We plotted and planned for 6 months. The creativity and sneakiness of 3 girls pulled off the best 40th wedding anniversary possible for our parents. I couldn't post ANYTHING, no pictures, no Facebook status about being out of town, and most definitely no posts on my calendar saying I was going to be off work! ACK. It was one of the HARDEST secrets I have ever kept but it was SO much fun. We got to Manhattan around noon and had lunch with my mother-in-law. Let the kids play for a bit and allowed me to get the last 2 candles finished (sister told me a couple days before that it would be best to have 14 candles after I had 12 done. *sigh*). We went and got the flowers ... that *I* needed to get because I had a present I needed to get for S&K's 10 yr anniversary the day before. I was at the church with the kids an hour before the party and to keep the kids busy, we had them make a banner for Grandma Mo & Pepa Jay. The party ended an hour after it was scheduled to end but I think that shows that it was a success. We all went to Lucky Brew Grill for dinner and our family got back to KC at 11:45pm. We were EXHAUSTED. Peanut didn't even wake until 8:45am on Sunday.

Yesterday was a great relaxing day. We did a little cleaning in the kitchen. We were simply enjoying the last day of Jer's vacation. Got shopping done last night and am ready to get back to work this week. I will be posting pictures on my Facebook page from the party and my multiply site. I can't wait for the temps to start going up because the kids can get out to the fountains of KC in the AM and get drenched before I have to go to work at 2pm. Best of all ... they are free. I am thinking that we won't get pool passes and just play in the spray parks and fountains this summer. Besides, their best friend has a pool in his back yard that is 4 ft. deep. Again, sorry for the lack of updates, but hopefully now you see why!

OH! I can't believe I forgot. Last Tuesday was Peanut's last day as a Kindergarten. She is officially a 1st grader now. We will find out in August who her teacher will be and who all will be in her class that she knows from Kindergarten!
