The past few days it has been over 100 degrees actual temperature and I just don't feel like doing ANYTHING. Luckily it has been a dry heat, not a humid heat so you can stand to be out in it for short spurts. For example
~ Thursday despite the heat, I took Bullfrog to Mahaffie Stagecoach & Farm to help with the wheat harvest. He had a GREAT time. The minute the horse drawn "combine" started pushing out piles of hay, he was there helping the employees tie the bundles up and carry them to the side of the road. He helped rake the downed wheat in the the piles and would run back and forth to get more twine. He learned how bread was made in the olden days and got to ride in a stagecoach.
~ Tonight was our ward BBQ to celebrate Pioneer Week. I wasn't going to go BUT I heard that it wasn't going to just be hamburgers and hot dogs ... husband mentioned the word BRISKET. You just don't turn down brisket and pork loin. So we went and had fun. Let the kids drench themselves in water. Monkey is just happy as a clam in this heat. I can't figure her out at all!
