Today is our first day back to the regular routine. We have had interruptions off and on over the past couple weeks and maybe it would have been better to just start school after Labor Day. Oh well, who would have known everything that transpired! The weather is just awesome so we have opened up the house and made schooling so much easier with crisp weather.
This evening we did a little food shopping and came home and altered our dinner plans just a touch. See, my good friend has a food blog called Dine & Dish and she blogged about a dump cake. Who knew ... I had all the ingredients, never mind there were only 3 ... so I just HAD to make this. We were in need of sweets and peach is my husband's fave anyway. *note, Kristen and I go back a decade so check all her blog out, she really is superb!* We did a basic family favorite called Calico Rice, just rice, meat, onions, cheese and sour cream. Since we got started late on dinner, I didn't want to spend too much time on everything. Kids went out to play with their friends while we were prepping dinner .. I say, we, because apparently no matter how much I love cooking ... Monkey's hunger comes first!
However, AFTER dinner ... I let the kids work on their blogs. Peanut was supposed to also email her older brother but got so wrapped up with blogging, I had to pull the plug! She really likes having an outlet to tell everyone everything without having to repeat herself or stutter. She decided she wants to blog when she gets older as a "job" and have a business page and everything. I can totally see her being able to do it too .... along with everything else she dabbles in! lol
