It is vitally important to remember that everyone has their own battles. How you treat someone could affect them positively or negatively.
~ There are some people who are only having a holiday meal because another family donates it.
~ There are some people who work 2-3 jobs to provide for their children, and daycare is provided by the state.
~ Most people who need food stamps are not out to mooch from the system.
~ Some people do not get a Christmas ... it isn't in the budget.
~ You do not have to be homeless to be down on your luck
Just because one battle may seem petty to you, it could be all encompassing to the person who is suffering. Think before you speak. Put yourself in someone else's shoes.
A smile goes a LONG way. While this needs to be done year round, it is extremely important around the holidays when people are already stressed and hurting.
~ end of my Public Service Announcement for today ~
