Rio 2

My family and I were given a great opportunity this morning by Candy, the owner of KCMetroMoms. She asked if we would like the ability to see Rio 2 screening. Of COURSE, I said yes! We weren't for sure if the kids had seen Rio yet but they knew about it because they are Angry Bird freaks. We watched it last night to prepare for the sequel.

We had planned on having Monkey come with us and Turtle was set to go to my father-in-law's house. However, when Monkey found out Turtle wasn't going, she wanted to stay with HER Turtle. We were ditched. The four of us headed over to the theater and got set up.

We had to check our phones in, so I only got two pictures ... one before the movie and one after. We were not impressed with how UNorganized the security point was for getting our phones back though. It should not have taken as long as it did.

I wished I could have gotten a pic of the kids sipping their soda with the 3D glasses on cause it was cute! The movie was FANTASTIC. I am not usually a big fan of 3D movies, but there was very little "cheesy" 3D features. I also have to say that I am not a Bruno Mars fan, but he didn't do too bad. The overall plot was predictable, but there were enough spins that we were still surprised a few times throughout the movie.

I HIGHLY recommend the movie. My older two didn't move at all during the movie and there were plenty of laughs (even for the adults). I must say that new animated movies continue to amaze me with their ability to look so lifelike with the computer. The dances were so realistic and the aerial shots were breath-taking. Both Jeremy and I have height phobias, and were given small anxiety attacks with how realistic it felt. The only scene that I could care less for was when Jewel informs Blu that he needs to consider what's best for the family. I thought it was a tad rude, he always has done everything for her (first and second movie), and she NEVER apologizes! Other than that, great movie.

Are you planning to see Rio 2 when it comes out next weekend? Do you have a favorite character? My kids both loved Nico and Pedro. I thought that Peanut and Carla were identical, which made me laugh.
