The Big Clean is underway

I tell ya what, we are PURGING. It is absolutely AMAZING what you find that you don't need when you need to sell things. Absolutely amazing what a husband realizes he doesn't really need and is willing to part with. I am ecstatic. I am finally getting some things out of my house that I have been trying to get rid of for YEARS.

The kitchen is almost completely done. I still have a bit more organizing to do, sweep and mop and dust and take pictures for the after photos. The living room... well, we still have a lot of work to do in there. That is where everything seems to get dumped. The kids room is looking worse right now as we have currently moved stuff into Bullfrog's room so I can clean Peanut's room. Then we will move everything into Peanut's room so I can clean Bullfrog's. Then the big kicker, we will then move Peanut's stuff into Bullfrog's room as they are switching rooms. Did ya catch all that? Peanut goes between being excited about it, to not being so happy about it. We were going to move the futon, but since it is still not repaired, we aren't going to move it around. We are, however, going to move it just enough to clean under it. We are tempted in tossing the frame, selling the cushion and worrying about getting something else later. But that hasn't become a certain yet because that is something neither of us want to decide on right now. The master bedroom hasn't even been touched. Well, it sort of has, but not really. There is so much that needs to be done, but first we have to get Jer's filing cabinet OUT so that we can move my dresser and then move the TV stand out. THEN we will have walking space. It will also allow me to decide whether or not I am going to keep my night stand since I don't do any cross-stitch in bed. The night stand has become a dump spot, or for those flybabies out there, a "hot spot."

So, it is noon today, Friday, and I have taken out 1 dead monitor, 1 empty computer case that has been collecting nasties, 1 dead bass speaker, 3 bags of trash and I have gone through everything on top of my filing cabinet. I folded 3 loads of laundry late last night and the kids put theirs away this morning. They are also all sorts of excited because they are learning how to give the dog commands. He knows them, they are just learning how to say them with authority. Johnny is beginning to respond to Peanut, but Bullfrog, he still sees as a toy. It is making it easier for them to keep things a bit nicer because I can enforce the, Johnny isn't safe playing in your room when there are toys out, rule. It now works! I am going through all their toys tomorrow and tossing toys that they don't play with or that are broken. We have a few new containers (small formula containers with lids) that I will start sorting their toys, making it easier for them to put stuff away. I don't want cleaning for them a chore, I want it to be something they don't have to really think about.
Well, their cousins are on the way over to play so I am going to go put a couple more things away and prepare to be a good host.
