Trip Blog (Day 2)

Friday was a long but very fun day. *note, we MADE kids nap every day!*

We started out with a simple breakfast and let the kids play with the toys until 9:30-10am. Then they were kicked outside on their bikes, which meant J came over. Then *I* got in BIG trouble when I let J come inside to play with the kids at 11:30am without Pepa or Grandma Mo being home. *sigh*

For lunch we went to Pizza Hut for their lunch buffet. We were not pleased with the service and I was really not pleased with the fact there was absolutely no clean plates on the buffet for a majority of the meal. Also, Peanut stuck her tongue way out and looked like Gene Simmons so we attempted to get her picture, but she decided to be a tirade about it. So Bullfrog was happy to oblige a tongue photo. LOL.

After lunch, we put the kids down for a nap and Bullfrog fell asleep immediately and Peanut decided to take nearly an hour to go down. They both were woken up at 4:30pm to give them a chance to wake up before our evening activities.

Peanut went to get her haircut at 5pm and Bullfrog, mom and I all traveled to the fair a little early. I took Bullfrog to see the cows but first we had to see who won the parade. The float we really liked was the one that took first, which is always nice. The bummer was that the CiCo Shamrocks took Red. That is the club I attended when I was in 4-H. Well, along with the Dog Club and the Straight Shooters. As I type, I cannot wait to go to a 4-H meeting next Thursday night to see if they have Clover Buds and get Peanut signed up for 4-H in the fall. I miss it greatly.

After looking around for a bit we went to the Pork BBQ. We had a ground pork burger, baked beans, chips, and an ice cream. It was delicious as always. We then had another 45 minutes to wander around. Plenty of time to see the only thing the kids REALLY care about right now, the animals. I also ran into a really good friend of mine's parents at the goat tent and it was good to touch base.

Aunt Tami took the kids on the Ferris wheel and my anxiety kept me planted firmly on the ground. I did get some pictures. They had a BLAST though. I felt really bad that they weren't able to get to go to the carnival any other time due to the weather.

The rodeo was the final thing on our agenda for the night. The kids were MUCH better this year than last. I got all the results and the only bummer part of the night was that no one was able to ride a bull for longer than a few seconds.

We went to bed and EVERYONE crashed. No surprise there, it was nearly 10:30-11pm.
