I actually REjoined the zoo but I couldn't remember my old FOTZ number because it has been a few years. We now get into the Sunset Zoo for only $6 instead of $12 when we visit Manhattan. We get into the Henry Doorly Zoo for 1/2 off. We spent some time comparing the two zoo memberships to figure which one was better because the KC Zoo membership was $20 more expensive HOWEVER, Sunset Zoo only covers 1/2 the cost of the KC Zoo admissions. Since that means we would have to pay at least $12.25 every time we went (plus the cost of the train, tram, boat, and carosel), we figured we just had to go 3 times to make the KC Zoo membership better! The only difference that we found that would affect us (maybe) was that the Sunset Zoo covers all of the admission cost to the Dallas Zoo, while KC membership covers only 1/2. I don't know when we plan on traveling down that way though so I don't know that it really affects us. I think we will try to go on Saturdays since I don't work those days. We will not be continuing our membership to Union Station after November 14th (when it expires) because JJ will start preschool at the beginning of the year (supposedly) and then start Kindergarton at the fall of next year.
We are in the process of getting Peanut into a 4-H Club and we are looking at the Oxford Hustlers. We have tried contacting them and we attempted to attend a meeting but the webpage is either outdated for where they meet or they had cancelled that meeting. I am trying yet again to contact the Community Leader and if I get no response, we will see what we can find at the county fair this summer. I know the Oxford Hustlers is a club though because I remember seeing things from the club at the fair last year. Peanut can join in February of next year as a 4-Her but I don't think she can enter anything in the fair until August of 2011.
Things at work are going downhill but we are hoping that will change over the next few weeks. I am no longer comfortable there and that upsets me. If things do not change within the next few weeks, I will be forced to re-evaluate my job there. I would hate to leave, but I don't like feeling afraid to work with certain employees. Starting next year though, Jeremy and I have decided that I will officially go part time if I am still employed at PetSmart. I will want to be able to transport the kids to and from school and 4-H.
I did go to Manhattan for Easter and had a great time. I don't have the pictures posted on Multiply ... yet but I do have them up on my MySpace as well as Facebook. The kids had a blast and we are either going to Erie this weekend, or we are going to Open House in Manhattan. I thoroughly enjoy no longer working Saturdays because I get to do fun things with the kids. I have missed that a lot. The only thing we have to contend with on the ability to leave town is Jeremy's work. Also I have cut my hours at work so making the finances to leave town are a little harder as well.
Speaking of travel - anyone want a couple kids for Memorial Day weekend? lol Jeremy and I are actually hoping for a real anniversary. We shall see what happens.
