YAY! I finally got to enjoy Labor Day weekend. Not like I will enjoy it next year, but this year was good enough for me. I worked Thursday night through Sunday night with its ups and downs. Not a whole lot of dogs but good enough. Got 6.25 hrs of time and a half today and that rocked. So here is a run down of the weekend.

Saturday:
Got off work at 6:45am (boss SERIOUSLY overslept and superboss wouldn't let us go home cause she was busy and couldn't watch the hotel). Then we went to City Market, HyVee and Target. Came back home only to drop off the cold food and then off to Peanut's birthday party. I slept in the car with Bullfrog while Peanut played in Monkey Bizness. I only assume she had fun since she was all happy go lucky when Steve brought her back to the van for me. Then we were off to go back home. We sat at home for about 30 minutes and then we were off to a baby shower. Technically, kids don't go to showers but my friend said this was more like a picnic and to feel free to bring the kids. Well, the kids came, we were near the park (there is a cross-walk to the upper part of Antioch park's playground) and so the kids took off. I went and got them 2 hours later for some cake. Everyone had a great time and I was glad the kids had something to do. Finally came home and I went to bed. Jer cooked dinner and I got up an hour before I had to be at work. Total amount of sleep? 1.5 hrs of "sleep" in a van, and then 3 1/2 hrs at home. yay. :( Was a fun day though.
Sunday:
After Saturday, I slept. I got home at 6am on Sunday and waited until 8 when the kids and hubby got up. I then made breakfast and went to bed. I woke at 1pm only to find out that my menu for the entire week is awol. Haven't the foggiest idea where it is. *sigh* Gonna make for a LONG week. I did make the Eggplant con Queso and that was good. Now to remember a few of the other meals. Eek.
Monday:
I got off work today at 6:15am and went to sleep shortly after getting home. I slept off and on until noon. Kids were awesome and watched kid shows knowing we were doing something special today but not knowing what it was. When I got up, we got the kids ready and made sandwiches real quickly. Took off to the Renn Fest in Bonner Springs, Ks. We were going to meet my mom there at 1pm but it seemed we had 2 late starts. lol We beat mom there and headed to the Children's Realm. The kids made cloth crowns and feather wands. Once mom joined us, it was off to the dragon swing. Bullfrog, as I figured, wanted to do it but whigged out when he realized the height it went to. So I chose to ride with him. The guy manning the station said he would let it swing low for a couple minutes and then let Bullfrog get off if he chose so everyone else could go high. Bullfrog didn't want to get off and so he decided tha the was ready to go a little higher. By the end of the ride, he was chilled and had a great time ... ready to go again. Figured as much. The girls who rode with us were like "we TOLD you it would be fun." Cracked me up. We listened to a little pirate music, got a new cd (yay!), bought candied almonds, rode an elephant, bought some souvenier clothes, and then did something I haven't done in AGES ... hair braiding. Peanut and I got our hair braided thanks to Grandma Mo. It aged Peanut to teenage years but she loves it. I am always shocked with the expense but it really is worth every penny. We finished the evening off with dinner at Wendy's. So, if you want the pictures, they are on my facebook and going up on Multiply eventually. Tomorrow, Peanut goes back to school and Bullfrog has a fresh week of homeschooling. Only difference this week? Jer is on vacation. Whoo Hoo!!!
