The State Fair

This weekend was another long fun weekend. I worked Thursday and Friday night, nothing new except I was loving on my sister's cat at work. :) Then after I got of work on Saturday morning, we immediately left for the State Fair. We live in KC and the fair is in Hutch ... that is a 4 hr drive. We had the kids watch movies on the drive down. We timed it perfectly. They watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original) and then Aladdin. I tried to sleep on the drive down but ended up only sleeping for about an hour and a half. I was exhausted most of the day. We let the kids ride the train (twice), bought them cotton candy, bought taffy, rode the boats (mom has pics of me & Bullfrog), and of course watch "The Boys" ... twice. Streetside performed at 11am and then again at 4pm. They were the WHOLE reason we drove down. Peanut was a pain and a half for more of the day but she was better by the end of the day. The weather was absolutely perfect. It was overcast for much of the day keeping the temperatures a little cool but not bad. Then it cleared up a couple hours before we planned on leaving so everything had started to dry up from the rain earlier that morning. It also allowed the temperatures to get warm enough to let the kids play in the fountain area.

Johnny stayed the day and night with my friend Sarah. He came home Sunday afternoon. Sunday, I woke around 11:30am and when I went into the kitchen I noticed that one of our rats couldn't handle the stress of the move. Cheddars passed away sometime Sunday morning. We just aren't sure when. We went looking for new rats but everyone either is carrying females or have feeder rats that aren't socialized (as a bite on my hand would atest to). We are going to go to Lawrence later this week hopefully to adopt a couple baby rats that are at the humane society.

I worked again last night and now am off until Thursday. Last night was long as we had 9 dogs but they were all in the same size group so we had one walk. Almost all of them are going home today with new dogs coming in. It is going to be a slow few weeks. Anyway, I am attempting to upload photos to my Facebook but Facebook occasionally is having issues today so we will see. I need to update my multiply site in the next few days. Sorry about that.
