Easter Weekend Wrap-Up

Well, I unplugged this weekend so after a day of catching up stuff online, I am blogging and then will spend the week catching stuff up physically!
So Thursday night we had the sleepover and then Friday night I worked. By Saturday morning I was exhausted and crashed right after eating some breakfast. Unfortunately, my kids didn't think I really needed the sleep and felt the need to wake me about every 1/2 hour to hour until Jer got home from work. *insert grumpy look here* We left for Manhattan around noon which was what we were shooting for so did really good. However, every time something good happens, like leaving on time, it's because things are forgotten. In this case, it was Jer's dress shirt and belt. Woops. We ran to Wally World while the kids played at Mema's. Peanut has a "new" camera (our OLD camera that barely works) and a very small card so she got to tinker with it this weekend. Thanks to Pepa Jay, she was able to take photos as he let her borrow her batteries (when ours died) and then emptied her card out twice. So, here are the highlights from the weekend.

Saturday -

* Went to Mema's and hung out for awhile letting the kids play for a bit but kept it calm because it was conference weekend.

* Went to parent's church to watch the living Last Supper and that was pretty cool. They did a brief background on each apostle and then told the story of the events leading to Jesus dying on cross and raising again. Bullfrog had a cute lines at the top of his lungs. The first was when Simon Peter talked and Bullfrog asked Jer if that was Peter Pan when Jer had told him it was Peter. *snicker* Then the second time was when Jesus was carrying the cross, he asked if that was the REAL Jesus, all sorts of excited. *another stifled giggle* We had a light dinner after this where there was a lot of chit chat and such.

* After the Last Supper we went to Dairy Queen for some ice cream. While the other adults ordered, I took Bullfrog over to have the evening of his life. He got to meet Pullen and Samuels. Kelly was sitting off to another table and was trying not to be noticed, lol. Pullen talked to Bullfrog while Bullfrog was dumbstruck. His grin was so big and all he could do for a few minutes was nod. It was too cute. Pullen was really nice as well. Then Bullfrog polished off a Peanut Buster Parfait which shocked everyone but Bullfrog and I.

Sunday -

* Went to church with my family and the kids got to see a baptism. This is important for 2 reasons. First because Bullfrog again had a cute comment ... "they have bathtubs at church?" and secondly because they are going to a baptism for their cousin this Saturday. There was no Sunday School or Children's Church though so the kids got bored pretty quickly.

* After church they did a small egg hunt for the kidlets. Bullfrog was super sweet to one of my old friends from high school and little miss TJ decided if he was going to pull that move, she was going to let them know that she got told she was beautiful that morning too. LOL. Bullfrog the little player was caught.

* We had an egg hunt at the parents house while waiting for lunch to finish and of course that brought out little Jenny from next door. We held her off until after lunch though so the kids could have time with just our family.

* After lunch the kids bolted outside and were outside for 2 1/2 hours ... without sunscreen. Yeah, not the best plan. Bullfrog ended up with mildly red arms but poor Peanut's cheeks. Oh, how I feel like a TERRIBLE mother. Guess I will be buying sunscreen this week as the kids are destined to be outside. Peanut also scraped her knee riding inline skates that were 3 sizes too big and going too fast on a scooter. Bullfrog learned how to basically ride a skateboard and found that pretty awesome. (ALL pictures are on my facebook account)

* Ate dinner at Mema's house with Aunt Kari & Uncle Will. The dinner was AWESOME. And after the dinner, we had to leave town. It was a GREAT trip and while we were utterly exhausted, we had a great time.

So, now that my kids are off groundation from the computer, expect their blogs to get going again and hopefully emails. We are going to be opening an account, probably with Flickr, for her pictures as they are pretty good. Have to buy new batteries for her but that must wait until payday.

Oh, and if you have any cute stories from this weekend and want to add them, feel free!
