To start with the positive ... we have learned we need to take a different approach with Peanut on school, or at least some subjects.
We started our day off GREAT. Kids got up on time without having to be awoken, got their chores done and breakfast downed. Then got out their religion work ... well, Peanut got hers out, Bullfrog lost his. :/ The day basically went downhill from there. Bullfrog finished his work up just in time for lunch. Peanut finished her math by lunch. Then all afternoon was spent doing reading, spelling, social studies, composition, etc. Needless to say, my nerves were shot by the time we finished. I left the house after dinner to get a slurpee to ease the nerves. I walked away knowing that I need to make some changes to I approach subjects with her and we need to get some practice sheets. Crawled in bed with her a few hours ago to make sure she was aware that no matter how frustrated we get, we still love her unconditionally. She, of course, snuggled right up and sighed. All is forgiven with that.
Dinner was a huge success. For the first time I made hamburgers that DIDN'T fall apart on the George Foreman. Normally I have to grill them on the griddle since they fall apart. Not tonight. YAY. Also fixed my blender and made YUMMY cucumber soup. I REALLY like this CSA thing. Really making me think outside the box on how to use different veggies. As soon as I get jars, I can make pickles with all these cucumbers I keep ending up with. I have the hot water bath cooker, just need jars, lids, funnel and tongs.
Well, tomorrow is going to come early so I am going to pump one last time and then go to bed. I thought I would leave you with my DAH-LING little girl with her Powercat bow on preparing for the pep rally next weekend. I can FEEL football season upon us. WAHOO!!
