New Tradition Forming

What can I say about having a family reset ... you get the chance to form new traditions. I LOVE it. I used to rarely make desserts for dinner. I used to just have months where I did a ton of baking. Pinterest has totally changed that for me. There are just way too many good foods out there and I just can't help but find excuses to try them!

So, tonight, while the older two were outside playing with the neighbors, and hubby was chasing little Monkey around. .. I made dinner. I had already decided I was going to make chicken alfredo because the kids asked if I still made alfredo sauce last week. Well of course I do. I am NOT a fan of store bought alfredo sauce. Remembering that is what Peanut really wanted, I started the pasta and got to work on the sauce. *quick side note, we learned that serving food on the table in plastic containers made cleaning up after dinner MUCH faster*

*and another side note, I need to find a way to protect the Alfredo sauce from the hubby until it is dinner time.*

So, after getting good and exhausted, the kids came in to wash up and prepare for dinner. We had everything on the table and got everyone sitting down. We have fallen in love with the family dinner style, so I have everything on the table and ready to dish up for the children. The cherry muffins were a huge hit with Monkey (but I didn't make those, their favorite babysitter did). Monkey, again, barely made it through dinner before being ready to go night night. She was out within a few minutes after dinner. She doesn't joke around with bedtime!

So, after we got Turtle fed, Monkey to bed, and older two situated, it was time to start dessert. Jeremy had seen a great recipe on a friend's Facebook wall (*another side note* this normally annoys the crap out of me because people take recipes and put them with the picture, preventing people from clicking on the link to visit the blog and create traffic) ... and asked me to make it. I looked at the recipe and realized we didn't have corn flakes or chocolate chips. I put them on the shopping list, but hubby said we should use Kix instead. I must say, it was DIVINE! The chocolate peanut butter bars are completely addicting. You can find the original recipe at No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Corn Flake Bars, but I will state, that they are KILLER with crushed Kix as well!

  1. The sauce was safe, it was the noodles and sauce together that almost didn't make it.
