I am a little shocked

I can understand being upset about a ticket. I can understand the frustrations of getting a ticket this close to Christmas. But what I am about to talk about today is just absolutely frustrating. It is frustrating because I am a mother. I have children that walk in school zones. I have friends in the construction business. People who put their lives on the line to work as fast as possible to get the road back into the condition it needs to be in for safe traveling.

Really? Sexual Harassment?!

Okay, so the story goes:

A 6 year old boy (yup, you read that right) is sitting in class and decides to kiss this little girl's hand. He has been SUSPENDED from the school for sexual harassment.

What a WONDERFUL opportunity

Friday evening I was asked by a friend to attend a forum at the local news station to talk about parenting. I went in with the theory I was going to be on television but wasn't 100% sure what was going to be required of me. I had Peanut help get me ready and she gave me a pedicure that morning. Talk about fun mommy/daughter time! When I got there, my stomach was in knots. We got a tour of the station and got to see how everything ran. It was just SO awesome.

Controversial Issue ...

Well, I have spent the greater part of 2 days deciding whether or not to insert this blog post. It is a controversial topic but I am a blogger, that is what I do. Love me or hate me, I need to get this off my chest and move on with life instead of letting it eat away at me.

Loss of a Celeb

I spent some time trying to figure out what to name this blog post. Kansas City lost a very prominent figure but as much as he is a celebrity, he was a friend to almost everyone. Don Harman has worked for Fox4 as a weatherman for as long as I can remember being in Kansas City. He was always super funny and even after his baby girl was born, seemed to be chipper. He would talk about his family and ask for ideas. He would respond to emails and questions on Facebook. He made mornings start with a smile, regardless of how late I had been up or how little sleep I had gotten. I am reading stories from people who talk about how he would penpal their children ... things he has done for charity ... his love for teaching oddities of weather and science. I will forever miss Don Harman and what he has done for Kansas City. I ache for his family and for Fox4 as a whole. He leaves behind shoes that will be very hard to fill.
