I just haven't had the energy to blog everything lately ... actually, haven't had the energy to blog ANYTHING the past few days. Work is just chaotic, temper tantrums, extra work, assigning tasks (aka micro managing), upset pet parents, being totally booked for day camp, etc. Just nuts. So, this week hasn't been AS BAD as previous weeks but I am still counting down to Sunday night at 7:30pm when I will be done with work for SEVEN consecutive days. Woot. Well, today was insane. So work was interesting but I totally won't dive into that. I got to work at 9am with a bagel for breakfast. I got my lunch at 1:30pm and little did I know that would be the last time I would get to eat until nearly 9:30pm tonight. *Sigh* I got off work (kids had been at the sitter from 8:30am to 2ish?) and got home only to be told my daughter had cut her finger open at the sitter's.
Me - How bad is it?
Him - I don't know.
Me - Is it still open?
Him - You can take the band-aid off and look at it. See what you think.
Me - *sigh* Peanut, come here please.
(CUT band-aid off finger because it got stuck on)
Me - Give me a minute, gotta change into something a bit more comfortable. I will just take both of them with me.
Him - Needs to go to the hospital?
Me - Yup. Still gapping open, oozing, and very dirty.
Get to the hospital at 6:20pm (only 20 minutes AFTER clocking off at work). After waiting for eons, we find out that sure enough, it needed stitches BUT if Peanut promised to NOT pick at it and sit still then they would try glue. They don't usually use glue on children's fingers because they pick at it but she thought it might be easier. So Peanut chose the glue route. It took a great deal of time to completely clean the wound out. I just wished someone had called me to let me know what happened when it actually occurred. That dirt sat in the wound for 5 hours. They had to numb her whole finger up because they had to use iodine. I did, however, inform her that Grandpa Jay didn't numb our hands up before iodine! She was very grateful for having a mommy who let her have the "happy medicine!" lol
Tomorrow I will take the kids in to PetSmart so I can:
a. See Jack Jack (he is coming on my day off, how rotten is that)
b. Let Adella show off her battle wound.
Did I mention HOW she cut her finger? She was racing the new neighbor boy on his bike and crashed.
