Preparing for the holidays

I am not going to lie, this is not my favorite part of the year at all. I don't like how everyone becomes all mean and nasty at the stores and my hours at work get all screwy. I don't like the cold, snowy weather and I don't like the media slamming you with the desire to buy everything under the sun. So, where does this leave me with 2 young kids? Faking it!

This next week I work 41 hours in a process of 4 days. 3 of those days (30.5 hours) in a row. We are projected to have roughly 150 dogs and about 10 cats boarding over the week. I will appreciate the paycheck next week but exhaustion will set in around Saturday.

We are going to have Thanksgiving with my younger sister and a few of her friends on Wednesday evening and I AM looking forward to that. Then on Friday, my sister takes the kids to Wichita and we will meet up with them in Manhattan to spend some time with family. The game plan for now is to stay overnight with my family on Friday night and then come back Saturday. This is possible because I am scheduled for Tuesday & Wednesday, allowing me to have the Friday & Saturday off. Woot!

I am going to attempt to donate blood on Friday as part of the Chief's annual blood drive this week. Friday & Saturday are double points if I can donate. I am really hoping that I can. I have been really good about taking my vitamins and iron pills.

Peanut has lost both her bottom teeth but she already has the permanent teeth in. She also got glasses that she is to wear when she reads things far away or watches TV. She isn't supposed to use them when she reads things on her desk or right in front of her to keep her eyes strong for as long as possible.

Bullfrog has hit another growth spurt and is now in size 5 clothing. He turns 5 tomorrow and we celebrated it at T-Rex a couple weekends ago. We had a lot of fun.
