Quick Correction

After looking at the "Kid's Marathon" a little closer and some notes from a wonderful sister who knows a lot about running, it appears Peanut will NOT run a marathon until she is 18. HOWEVER, since she IS run/walking 3.5 miles right now, I think we might just have her register for the 5K on the 16th of October instead of letting her run the final 1.2 miles of the "marathon." Basically what they do is count every mile you run and add it up. So she has until Oct 16th to run 25 miles and then would run the final 1.2 miles the day of the race. I think she would be pouting that it was ONLY 1.2 miles since she REALLY wants to run a lot. I should also add that this is not something I even pushed on her. I asked her if she wanted to do it because her teacher was supposed to be asking them about it. I guess the teacher already had brought it up cause the words of excitement flew out of Peanut's mouth like lava from a mad volcano!
