Another Fair Day DONE!

Today was the first official day of the Johnson County 4-H Fair. Foods were judged from 1-9pm in the elementary school while across the street, the 4-H building was opened up for entries to be dropped off for everything else but animals. We decided not to go until nearly 4pm and it was PERFECT timing. The lines were next to none and we got in and done within 30 minutes. Wowza. Peanut entered Marvel's Chocolate Chip Cookies for her drop cookies, Mema's Oatmeal Fudge for no bake cookies and then a strawberry cupcake recipe I found online that didn't require a food processor for her unfrosted cupcakes. She got a blue on all of them and we couldn't be happier. The judge gave her some great tips for things to work on next year and Peanut is already starting to think about what she wants to learn next year in Food's!

After we were done with the foods, we chilled in the car for about an hour while we waited for it to be time for entries to be accepted. We did photos first and we should be doing interview judging between 2-2:30pm ... maybe a little later, we will see. Then we had to wait around for General to start accepting gifts ... so, what do you do with 2 little ones while buying time? Take pictures!!

LOL! Anyway, posters were entered and unfortunately, they are NOT doing conference judging at all in the General division. Big boo to that! Tomorrow is bound to be a long day but SO exciting! Judging, browsing, pedal pull, calf scramble, catching greased pigs ... a little fair food ... yup, BEST time of the year EVER!
