As I plan the kids schedule for home schooling, tentative plans for the first few weeks until we get a feel on how long each subject will take, I started to look for things outside the house to let them get involved with. We have signed up with KC Homeschool, which is a group that encompasses the entire KC Metro. They have co-ops and clubs and other such events.
Of course we are also doing things with the other children in MVPS. Between those two AND all the other free or nearly free things to do in KC (see kcmetromoms.com for a GREAT calendar of events), my calendar just went "poof". It is so awesome living in a place where the kids can be SO involved in SO many different things. This weekend is our family party which I am in charge of. Then we are going to the zoo the following weekend and all the sudden it is Labor Day Weekend! Holy Cow! HOWEVER, we have been counting down until Labor Day weekend because we have plans ... HUGE plans and they would NOT be completely possible without two REAL good friends of mine. One of them has her own business called Glow's Bows and because of her, not only will Monkey look ADORABLE, Peanut and I will have matching bows. We bought a bow and purple crocheted headband for Monkey to wear to go with a tutu that a friend of mine is making for us. Then she offered us a deal we just could NOT pass up on to have matching bows. She has already finished them because she kicks serious butt! If you EVER have a bow need, I urge you to go to Glow's Bows. She gets your bows done in a VERY reasonable time, has a LOT of mediums to chose from and she is just darn good!
