9 Years!

9 years ago I was in the hospital under the influence of pitocin and epidural. At 10:01pm, upon the threat of a grandma, my first baby girl was born. She has been so independent and keeping us on our toes ever since. We throw huge parties for the children until they turn 8 and then they have a small party for their 9th, 11th, 14th, 15th, and 17th. This year was one of Peanut's off years BUT it didn't turn out so bad for her!

Today was IHOP's National Pancake Day where they give away a short stack of pancakes. We decided to meet up with Jeremy near his route and have him celebrate her birthday with us. We purchased a meal along with the free pancakes because it was her birthday, and I bought her a slice of cake. THEN, they came and sang to her bringing her a bowl of ice cream with an equal amount of whipped cream on top and sprinkles. She was in Heaven. Of course, Monkey was feeling a little put out because the cake and ice cream were not for her!

Then after dropping the food off at home, we ran over to the hospital where my sister was being prepped for surgery. Well, there were some hang-ups and 2 hours after arrival, my sister was still in the waiting room waiting to be called back. *sigh* BUT, Grandma Mo was prepared, even though she hadn't planned on it, and the kids played Angry Birds on the iPad while they sat in the waiting room. Poor Monkey was bored out of her mind and finally lost her patience after nearly three hours. Yikes! We made it to lunch where she downed half of a yogurt parfait and some water. MUCH happier baby.

Back home to drop off left over food because there was so much and by now it is just a little after 4pm. Husband calls and says he has money to take Peanut out for dinner. Of course! We went to Godfather's where it was Kids Eat Free and we had a coupon for the buffets. We ate dinner about 3 hours after we had eaten lunch. Needless to say, it was a good thing we didn't pay much because only Jeremy got his moneys worth. I don't think I did too bad because I didn't eat much of my lunch ... was too busy feeding munchkin. Peanut had a GREAT time though and was sung to several times.

Now she is eagerly awaiting this weekend when she gets to go to Barnes & Noble, Wal-Mart and American Girl Store!

I can't believe this is the last year my baby girl is in the single digits!!
