After having a surprise visitation yesterday, I had to do my shopping today. It worked out though as my husband needed to do some stuff at work and bring his vehicle home. We had a pretty set shopping list with one exception ... if we see a good meat deal, we go for it. Well, we found out that HyVee had their chicken pieces on sale for less than a dollar a pound. So, we bought 2 packages of thighs and 2 packages of legs. I have a food saver at home and love to buy meat at a good price and then divide it up with the food saver. I did this with pork chops a couple of weeks ago, when they were 10/$10. This allows me to have some easy date night dinners or family dinners ... or I can have a meal change without fretting about having stuff at home. So, without further ado ... here is my menu for this week!
Monday: Chicken Chili (that is friendly for my IBS)
Tuesday: BBQ Chicken Calzones
Wednesday: Spaghetti and homemade French Bread
Thursday: Chicken Fried Steak, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies & gravy
Friday: Gunk (our family's name for some ingredients thrown together and tastes yummy)
Saturday: Date Night (we are having steak, rice, steamed veggies & gravy ... kids will have leftovers)
Sunday: Bagel Chicken Sandwiches ... not sure what we will have with it just yet. Depends on what yummy stuff we get in the Fresh Connect box of goodies! =)
