Pushing myself to the limits

This past week has been strictly preparing for next week. I have spent the week trying to get everything caught up in the house, things prepared for packing, and kids worn out. We have done one of our Summer "Bucket" list items (see list here) by attending a tie-dye party with several friends. I have the outfits in the wash right now so I hope to be posting pictures by tomorrow. We missed Old Shawnee Days due to exhaustion so that won't be done this year. We have also walked around a park with friends, attended a park day, practiced for Iron Chef, got all of our paperwork turned in, toured Chik-Fil-A, and Peanut began crochet.

I have spent several days with no naps which didn't bode well for my pregnant body. I ended the week not feeling that great and pretty weak. We will try to re-work the schedule so I can try to grab a few naps. Monkey's naps are getting shorter so my napping times are few and far between. She does, however, know that mommy has a baby in her tummy and is very attached to whoever is growing in there. She likes to put music up to my belly, poke the belly, and even cuddle with my belly. This morning she woke and instead of wanting to nurse for comfort, she snuggled up to my belly and fell back asleep. I am not sure if she can hear the baby move around, or if it is more of the womb sounds that she may still remember. Either way, it makes me smile!

Kids start VBS this week, so we are hoping to grab free breakfast at in Turner, then run to VBS, then grab free lunch in Shawnee Mission. Not real sure how it will all work out but we are hoping. Peanut has her final practice on Wednesday before the REAL DEAL on Friday. Look for more information on the Jr. Iron Chef Challenge to be posted on Monday! We are still accepting sponsors for the team to offset the registration fees and the cost of t-shirts.

This weekend we get to watch some youth baseball, have a sleep-over, and lose a child for a week. ;) I am sure I won't know which direction is which until Monday, the 18th. What fun it will be. Can't wait to take pictures and feel the excitement from the children. There is so much excitement occurring this summer, and so many changes planned. I can't wait until I am able to expound further on what our family is ready to embark on. God is good and he answers prayers!
