Summer Vacation Time!

Most schools are out now and summer vacation begins. We are a one vehicle family and now that my husband has normal hours ... it is much easier! We will be taking him into work and then doing our summer plans. After Candy from kcmetromoms & mommypalooza started the #summeritup, I joined the campaign. I love that term much more than Summer Bucket List.

We are living it up this summer. We have all enrolled in the Summer Reading Program through the Kansas City Kansas Public Library, and we will be doing a lot of their fun events throughout the summer including:

• Kids' Cafe
• Lego Club
• Learn Guitar
• Lots of Crafting & Teen activities

We are also doing a lot of summer movies including:

• Movies in the Park
• WeekEnders (Crown Center)

Our apartment complex has two different book mobiles that come that my kids love participating in. Finally, we will be doing swimming, splash pads, and picnics whenever possible. Peanut is leaving for Texas in July. She gets to stay with her aunt & uncle for a full week. I think she might be a tad excited about it.

What are your plans for summer? What are your "boredom busters" for when the weather does not allow outside play?
